In a respectful, diverse and safe space we meet to share our thinking about four themes, after a “theoretical provocation”. You do not need to have any knowledge about the subject, just wanting to think about this as a community.
Thursday November 28
18.30—20.00
Price: 60 DKK (1 drink included) / 200 DKK for all four sessions
Thinking critically together is a proposal to rethink the world. It consists of meeting up with openminded and curious people and as a community to reconsider four important topics:
1. Desire and consent: how desire and consent are understood in plural societies that need to establish criteria on these issues? This topic is often discussed publicly. Do desire and consent always align? How can desire be identified in a patriarchal society? Does affirmative consent ensure women's sexual freedom?
2. We rethink the family: how do we understand the family today? What if it's not a safe place for everyone? How can we manage social reproduction? We will review the discourses that value the family as the place of care and those that propose abolishing it and reorganizing socialreproduction...how?
3. What about Masculinity?: In a changing gender landscape, we question masculinity. How are masculinities constructed? How uncomfortable is masculinity for men? We will discuss the idea that masculinity is not just a men's issue.
4. How does intersectionality work?: We live in increasingly complex societies where understanding others and relating amidst this complexity is a challenge. The concept of intersectionality arose to understand the particular circumstances that, when “intersecting,” define individual behavior. This concept/tool can help us understand our relationships today.
For the price of a drink (which is included in the ticket) we meet up with María Javiera Aguirre, who facilitates and coordinates meetings.
Full circle ticket: 200 DKK for all four sessions.
The circles are in English and is held upstairs on the big plateau. Check in and get your drink of preference at the bar (choose between beer, wine, coffee or tea for your drink).
